Public Domain Playing Cards
From time to time I think about creating playing cards in Nodebox. It would be fairly easy to do, EXCEPT for the face cards, which are rather complex. There should be a way not to reinvent this wheel.
In the past when I go looking for public domain SVG face cards, I find ZILLIONS of offerings but all have strings attached. They often claim to be free but in fact cost money (understandable given the work involved), or come with onerous licensing restrictions.
Tonight I went looking again and FINALLY found a source of high quality SVG cards which actually do seem to be public domain and completely unencumbered:

I downloaded the set and quickly tried a few of the cards in Nodebox with no difficulty, and no need to reformat the SVG files or do anything special after import. I do not have any immediate plans to use these, but may do so some time in the future.
If anyone out there uses these cards for a project, please share it in the Show Your Work channel. And consider dropping an email to thank the generous guy behind this public service, Dr. Daniel S. Fowler: [email blocked]

Good to see the cards work with NodeBox.
