Nodebox 3 - slow performance

On my Macbook Pro (mid 2012, 2,7 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB RAM), Nodebox 3 is quite slow when you work with multiple shapes. Is this normal? It kind of ruins the fun when a small portion of complexity introduces slow, slow framerate....

    I'm not sure how many shapes you've created. Do you have an example demo file?

    NodeBox is not really meant for realtime performance; it was created to be able to export animations to movies or a sequence of images.
