Hilbert Curve
Dear John,
Hilbert Curve is a candidate for your Node Library - I searched for 'Hilbert' at the NodeBox forum and did not find any returns.
Also, going back to the "Tools vs. Gestures" email conversation in June, 2021, you originally called kolanimator, "Automatic Kolam Network" (AKN). The Hilbert Curve is so "locality aware" like being "socially aware" of not just knowing what one needs and wants but what family, neighbors, friends and others need and want. A kolam drawing exercise is largely about space filling dots with lines and curves taking care of neighboring dots and symmetry. Hilbert Curve looks like the best guide to create completely original kolams a la AI bot style, filling the curve path with appropriate tile patterns. A fully automatic kolam art network is definitely within reach.
As Hilbert Curve is so useful for tiling, rendering, shading and other vfx wonder if JavaScript AJAX could be used to flip kolams creating improved art on the go based on user input.
Regards,
Ramanraj K

Many like blender, cinema 4d etc apparently use the curve for efficient rendering.

Ramanraj,
Thanks again for suggesting this! I have just released a general purpose hilbert node. See the docs and demo here:
http://support.nodebox.net/discussions/show-your-work/642-hilbert-node
That done, we should continue this discussion to explore possible uses of this hilbert node. On Instagram you suggested a way of generating kolam by simply following a Hilbert curve, looping around the dots instead of turning on them. This is a brilliant idea which I think I could automate without too much trouble. If I come up with a node to do that I will post it on this thread.
John

John, congratulations and thanks. This is so amazing. I least expected a surprise like this—the node is so sophisticated. A step forward towards a completely automatic kolanimator. Cheers!
