Menus displaying meta and keyboard commands not working
Have fired up Nodebox again for the first time in a while... very happy to see there has been an update - thank you so much for your work.
Unfortunately I have a problem. My menus are all showing 'meta' instead of control for keyboard commands. I have spent time trying to find out what 'meta' might actually be, but it doesn't appear to map to anything, so I can't use any keyboard commands to control Nodebox.
Checked my keyboard system settings, but everything seems ok there. Java 15.0.1+9-18 if that helps.
All the best,
Tim

Hi Tim,
Sorry for the delay. I just now found your message in the NodeBox forum spam folder. I have no idea how it got there.
Are you still having this problem? I'm not a Windows person, so may be of limited help. I know there used to be a Meta key (symbol is a diamond) on some PC keyboards. There must be some way of remapping modifier keys in Windows - have you tried that?
If you're still there and still having trouble please reply and I'll see if I can help troubleshoot.
John

Hi Tim,
Sorry you are having this problem. We have verified that it is a bug with the new 3.0.52 version of NodeBox. See the bottom of this long thread:

Frederik understands the problem, but I'm not sure when he can release a patch. Adding him.

This is still an issue today.
You can't just allow Windows Key mappings since most keys are already mapped by Microsoft..?! This doesn't make any sense.
What is the problem with just mapping it like a normal person?
So I can Ctrl + S my project and Ctrl + V nodes around.
Cheers

er1k,
Yeah, I know. This is frustrating. Unfortunately Frederik, the inventor of Nodebox, is the only one who can fix this, and he no longer maintains Nodebox on a regular basis.
If this is driving you capital K Krazy I'm afraid the only fallback is to revert to the previous version (which has a few annoying bugs of its own). I will ping Frederik again just in case he can find some time.

Thanks for the fast response. I was diving head first into NodeBox yesterday. It's so good but I can't work fast enough.
I might try an older version, thanks for the tip.
Also I'm hoping the nodebox.live invite is just around the corner... It probably also scales better with my 4K workspace.
Cheers

Hi,
I made a fix for the Windows key issue. The new release should appear on the download page, but you can download it immediately here as well:

Best,
Frederik
