I have never used the OSC feature, and have no equipment to test it with, so I probably won't be able to help much.

I did just try it from a Mac and had no trouble creating a network with a receive_osc node. Device Support was checked under NodeBox/Preferences. If I unchecked this, quit NodeBox, and tried to reopen the file I did get an error message, but not the same as yours. To fix this I just had to turn Device Support back on, quit NodeBox, and restart.

Please confirm that you tried launching NodeBox (just the NodeBox app itself - without touching your old OSC file) and were unable to turn on Device Support from the preferences menu.

If you are able to turn it on in that way, quit NodeBox, restart, and THEN try opening your old OSC file. If that solves the problem let us know.

If you are still getting errors, maybe your old OSC file is corrupt. Try writing and saving a new NodeBox network, with or without OSC nodes. Do non-OSC networks run OK?

If NodeBox itself works OK for non-OSC nodes, but gets an error for any network with an OSC node, I suggest you then post a copy of your test network. I probably won't be able to help, but maybe someone else will.

Sorry to hear about error issues, how are you triggering your OSC signals (the device/software you are using to send OSC to Nodebox)?

My setup is slightly different than yours but my old nodebox OSC project is working on MacOS High Sierra with Nodebox 3.0.5

Dtag:support.nodebox.net,2012-11-01:Comment/439786002017-12-02T17:50:35Z2017-12-02T17:50:38ZDevice support error

HI,
Thanks for the answers, even if it does not help my problem.

When I start NodeBox (from app, not from a file) there is no problem. If I try to enble the Devices Support in the Preferences, save it and close the Preferences windows, I have the expected alert saying I must restart NodeBox. But when I try to close NodeBox I cant and have the error. I must disable the Devices Support to be able to quit NodeBox.

DidierDtag:support.nodebox.net,2012-11-01:Comment/439786002017-12-02T22:43:04Z2017-12-02T22:43:55ZDevice support error

Hi Didler,

The same thing happened to me. When I enabled device support and tried to quit I got an error message.

But instead of turning off device support and quitting, I just did a force quit. On the PC you press CTRL + ALT + DELETE, then choose End Task and select NodeBox from the list of running tasks.

When I relaunched NodeBox, device support was still on. Give that a try and see if it solves your problem.

I was afraid to do that, afraid of not being able to restart Nodebox making the same error at the beginning. I dont know where the preferences are stored, so I was afraid to definitely lose NodeBox unable to restore the default prefernces.
I did what you said, I killed the task and now it seem to be OK, I can use the OSC and other devices functions.
Thanks again ;)

DidierD
