Larger connection targets
This is a feature I ported over from NodeBox Live: when creating a new connection, you can now use the entire height of the node to drop the connection, instead of just the ports.
This hopefully avoids a lot of finicky interactions with nodes, and makes connecting them easier.
See the GIF for a demo.

Yay!
Frederik, this is huge! It's a small thing, but it will make the chore of attaching link lines SO much easier.
As long as you are fiddling with target zones, may I suggest you also enlarge the target area around the output port of nodes? Currently you have to position the mouse exactly over the tiny output port to initiate a link; if you miss you end up dragging the node instead - which may lead to cursing.
If you could just enlarge the target zone so that you could position the mouse near the output port instead of exactly on it that would solve the other half of the connection failure problem. Since the entire height of the node is now used to establish incoming links, "near" means an area just below the node, maybe a rectangular region of space two or three times the width and height of tiny output port. (If two nodes were stacked together like lego bricks you would have to resort to the current behavior; the expanded target space for output nodes would only be in effect when the area directly below a node was not already occupied.)
Again, thanks for this! I can hardly wait for the next version of NodeBox to drop.
John

This is awesome. Thanks for making this update. Looking forward to seeing this in the next update!

Not to temper your enthusiasm, but I'm on holiday until Nov 3th (and off the grid!), so I'll do it after.

This is now released!
I've also made a last-minute change to enlarge the hitbox of the output port, so it's easier to start a connection. The hitbox now extends 10 pixels above and to the right of the actual port.
